Incident that shattered me........

 In a world where love should guide our way,

A tale of choices on a fateful day,

My parents brought a boy with dreams anew,

But my heart was tethered, my love was true.


I stood there torn, my heart in a bind,

For another's love had captured my mind,

I couldn't forsake what my heart held dear,

Even if the path ahead was unclear.


They said he had everything one could desire,

Wealth and status that could easily inspire,

But I knew deep inside, my heart wouldn't sway,

For love, not riches, would light my way.


I stayed steadfast, my love unwavering,

For the one who had my heart, I was saving,

Though my friend questioned why I'd let go,

I held to my belief, love's truth I'd show.


For riches and status may come and go,

But a love like ours would forever grow,

Money may matter to some, it's true,

But for me, love was the only glue.


In the end, I chose the path of the heart,

For love's enduring flame, I'd never depart,

I'll stand by the one I've chosen to adore,

For it's love that matters, forevermore.
